With the objective of bringing the convenience of a bookstore to booklovers in the Damansara suburban area, First Edition Bookstores officially opened for business on 18-December-2003 in the vibrant Damansara Uptown neighbourhood.

Being an independent bookstore, we try to differentiate ourselves by striving to excel in the following areas:-

• Unique and better selection of books,

• Wide-array of imported and local magazines,

• Convenient and extended business hours, and

• Personalised and knowledgeable customer-service.

By focusing on those key areas, we hope to make every booklover's book-shopping experience at First Edition Bookstores pleasant and delightful. In this regard, we're happy and fortunate to enjoy the loyal and generous support of a group of booklovers who really appreciate what we're doing differently.

As it is, we take pride in being the only English bookstore to operate 15 hours a day from 9:00 am — 12:00 midnight everyday. And everyday absolutely includes Sundays and public holidays. This makes us the only English bookstore that can proudly claim to be always the “first to open and last to close” in this country.

The extended business hours coupled with our strategic location right in front of the bustling Damansara Uptown food court (which operates till 4:00 am everyday) can only mean three things to booklovers: convenience, convenience, convenience. This is especially so for booklovers who don’t have the time to visit a bookstore in the day or who need something late at night. And most nights, with booklovers still in our premises, we close well beyond 12:00 midnight.
