March 8, 2008, has
become a defining moment in our nation's political landscape that
has been largely shaped by the May 13, 1969, racial riots that led
to the New Economic Policy.
The unprecedented outcome of the 12th general election has spawned a
new awakening among Malaysians that there is hope for a two-party
system to provide better checks and balances in the administration
of the country. The Edge has compiled a collection of
thought-provoking articles by 23 writers: articles that reflect the
public's angry mood leading up to the March 8 polls, articles that
do not mince words in analysing the aftermath, and articles that
convey the dreams of Malaysians. This book is edited by Oon Yeoh,
who pioneered socio-political blogging in the country.
